Description

Half Bridge resonant SMPS capable of delivering 300W continuous and up to 360W peak power. It is configured for single output voltage in range of 24V to 72V plus one differential output voltage of approx. +-18V at 500mA max. current. The Main Output Voltage is regulated and adjustable within approx. 10% (+-5%) and the ordered voltage value is at the middle of the interval.  In this way, the available voltage versions covers almost all the voltage range from 22V to 50V. It uses zero-voltage switching half bridge resonant topology.

The Aux. Output Voltage is differential, unregulated and the value is approximately multiple of 5.5 to 6.5V. For example the Main Output Voltage of the 36V Version can be adjusted from approx. 22.5V to 26V while its aux. Voltage will follow the Main output approx. as 1/2V at +-18V, measured with 100-200mA load across V- and V+. For some main output voltage versions the aux. output voltage can vary within +-16.5V and +-20V. Also when the aux. output is unloaded the voltage will be slightly higher than when it is loaded.

The main feature of this power supply is the absence of the heatsinks both for power switches and rectifier diodes, due to increased efficiency, up to 94.6% for higher voltage versions, due to the fact that the transistors are soft-switched, and the current through the switches has sinusoidal shape, and there are no additional losses in output inductors. Also, the amount of EMI is much less than any conventional power supply, and could be compared with a linear well regulated power supply. The size and weight is greatly reduced, allowing to install the SMPS300RS to be installed into low profile case, with it’s 100x100mm and 32 to 40mm tall depending on the voltage version and capacitors used. The SMPS300RS features over-current protection which limit the output current at about 110% to 120% of the maximum peak power, about 330W to 360W depending on the voltage version.

Due to the fact that the Output voltage of this power supply is regulated, it is suitable for both class AB and class D/T amplifiers, which have average PSRR value. Target applications for this power supply unit are class D BTL output amplifiers. * Any other voltage than available ones can be supplied on request, in range of 18V to 180V for the single voltage version. Due to the fact that custom voltage require custom built transformer, and some component changing, it cost more and it can take one-two weeks more to be done.
