Description

SMPS2000RS is a Single High Current Output Voltage version plus a +-12V 500mA regulated output, similar with the the existing SMPS2000RxE Resonant Power supply, designed especially for multi-channel BTL Integrated Class D Audio Amplifiers, RF Amplifiers, Li-Ion Battery Chargers and Automation Projects. It has a dedicated +-Aux supply connector which can supply aux. voltages and provide external Mute control. The Output Voltage is tightly regulated with CC-CV characteristic. The Output Voltage as well as the Output Current limit can be set.

It uses zero-voltage switching half bridge resonant topology. The main advantage is lower size and cost compared with any other similar SMPS and better efficiency, up to 95% due to the fact that the primary side MOS-FET’s are soft-switched, and the current through the switches has sinusoidal shape, and there are no output inductors. The SMPS features overcurrent protection which limit the output current at about 130% of the maximum power, about 2600W. This SMPS can be used both at 230V AC Mains input voltage as well as 120V AC Mains supply voltage. By default, to prevent mistakes, is configured for 230V AC operation, the user must place the jumper for 120V AC operation.

The output voltages are tight regulated and adjustable within 5-10% range. Available output voltages are in range of 36V to 240V. Due to multiple Output Voltages, all voltage versions are built on request only, after placing the order within 10-12 working days. Currently version of SMPS2000RS has lower EMI noise and improved layout than the older version. The most obvious changes are the addition of a second EMI filter stage which can be recognized easily by having two EMI inductors instead of a single one and the large molded rectifier bridge mounted on the heatslug. The current manual and pictures will be updated with the new specs and picture of the new board version.
